Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a common chronic condition that changes the life cycle of skin cells. It is an immune system problem with cells in our body. There is a formation of a layer rapidly on the skin. The extra forming layers become thick, with silvery scales, dry, red patches and itchy.

Types of psoriasis are,

Plaque (also called Psoriasis Vulgaris)
Guttate
Inverse (also called Flexural Psoriasis or Intertriginous Psoriasis)
Pustular
Erythrodermic (also called Exfoliative Psoriasis)

Signs and Symptoms

Dry, cracked skin, itching, burning ness, scaly spots, red patches or patches anywhere on the skin, ridged nails, stiff joints and swelling.

The cause of psoriasis mainly not known, but believed to be the causes like skin infections, severe sunburn, stress and strain, cold weather, smoking, alcoholism, dry weather and certain medicines.

Diagnosis can be done by physical exam and the medical history of the patient. Can check the patient nail, skin and scalp for the signs.

Udvartanam

Fine medicated powder is applied over the whole body.

Abhyangam

It is a whole body massage with special herbal oils.

Siropichu

Specially prepared warm medicated oil is kept over the lumbar regions with a herbal paste boundary.

Vamanam

Medically induced Vomiting.

Virechanam

Medically induced Purgation.
